Pentagon Employees Ordered to Shelter in Place Due to Air Quality Concerns

On Thursday, certain workers at the Pentagon were instructed to shelter in place after air quality concerns arose. Employees located in corridors 4 through 7 on floors 2 through 5 received an email notification to remain in their offices while air tests were conducted. Pentagon guards donned gas masks as a precautionary measure.

The Arlington County Fire Department's hazardous materials team is currently assisting the Pentagon Force Protection Agency in addressing the situation. Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell reassured that the building's sophisticated safety systems detected the issue, leading to standard protective protocols being enacted.
