CVS Health Executives Discuss Innovations in Healthcare at AHIP 2026 Conference

At the recent AHIP 2026 conference, CVS Health executives discussed the transformative potential of AI in healthcare. Katerina Guerraz, Aetna's COO, emphasized the importance of real-time data sharing among healthcare stakeholders to alleviate administrative burdens and improve patient access to care.

She noted that interoperability could be a key factor in reshaping the industry over the next three to five years. Tilak Mandadi, CVS's chief experience and technology officer, highlighted the company's conversational AI assistant, designed to assist members in navigating the healthcare system by anticipating their needs and providing comprehensive information.

This tool has reportedly resolved about 75% of customer interactions that previously required calls, allowing staff to focus on more complex issues. Furthermore, CVS is developing a personal AI assistant through its Health100 platform, which aims to proactively manage patient needs by integrating various health data sources.

This system could help patients better manage their health and reduce out-of-pocket costs by identifying issues before they escalate. Overall, these innovations could lead to improved healthcare outcomes and a more efficient system for both patients and providers
