Two months after a limited rollout of its Mythos model, Anthropic is now making Claude Fable 5 available to enterprise customers and paid subscribers. This new model is designed with enhanced safeguards to prevent misuse in sensitive areas such as cybersecurity and biology.
Dianne Penn, Anthropic's head of product management for research, emphasized the company's focus on providing valuable technology while ensuring safety.
The launch of Claude Fable 5 aligns with Anthropic's goal to deploy Mythos-class models at scale and comes as the company prepares for a potentially historic IPO, having recently reported a revenue run rate of $47 billion, a significant increase from the previous year. The model demonstrates exceptional performance, outperforming its predecessor, Claude Opus 4.8, by over 10% on some benchmarks.
Pricing for Claude Fable 5 is set at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens, which is double that of Claude Opus 4.8. Despite the higher costs, early customers have noted improved returns on investment, indicating a demand for more accurate and beneficial AI solutions.
This release positions Anthropic competitively against rivals like OpenAI, which is also preparing for an IPO, and highlights the intense competition in the AI sector as companies strive to justify their valuations to investors
